A Magic Skeleton Book: The Human Body

Children love finding out about themselves; they're curious about what lies beneath the skin. With a pull of some tabs, and the cool images here, they can find out how oxygen circulates, about the digestive process, and what makes up the inside of a cell. The mysteries of the skeleton, skull, teeth, brain, heart, and more are revealed to inquisitive young minds, along with very practical information on how they can stay healthy.

Great book

My 6 year old daughter really enjoyed this book. It taught just enough about the human body without going into too much detail for children.

Very Impressed

My daughter got this book for her 6th birthday. She has not stopped reading it since. She is constantly reading it and talking about it. Each page has a pull out which when pushed in, looks like the skeleton on the cover, a black and white drawing. When pulled out, it reveals the organs in color beneath. Very well done.

A must-have for teaching kids about the body!

This book is written "Magic Schoolbus" style, in which a teacher is leading her students through a lesson on the human body. Much of the text is written in conversation bubbles, which my then 5-year-old daughter really enjoyed. The drawings and information are accurate and intelligent without being grossly realistic or boring. The book not only focuses on how the body works, but why it is important to take care of it. But what makes this book really special is the pull tabs which "magically" transform line drawings of skeletons and lungs into fully muscled organs. My daughter was absolutely transfixed by those tabs and spent many a happy car ride pushing the tabs in and pulling them out, trying to figure out how the magic happens. Now 9, my daughter still occasionally reads this book. My three-year-old son also finds it fascinating and is, of course, getting his sister's copy all grubby, so I'm ordering a new one for her that she can pass down to her brother when he's done destroying the copy we already own!
