Details about Protecting Yourself

The Internet was set up for people to share information. It has obviously grown a lot since then, mostly beneficially, but it seems that there's always somebody or something out there intent on invading your personal cyberspace. Norton Internet Security is an arsenal of products that defends you (more or less) from smammers, pop-up artists, virus carriers, and spyware. Unfortunately, the programs and routines that make up Norton Internet Security require implementation, tuning, updating and constant vigilance to keep a system protected. It seems that as soon as a way to stop the intruders is found, they re do their invasive routines. There's also a short, perhaps too short section on CoolWebSearch, a site to be avoided at all costs, unless you want them to take over your browser and point it to the sites that pay them money.

A valuable reference for a wide audience

This book is a very useful companion to the Norton Internet Security product line, clearly and intelligently organized. Norton Internet Security is the best security product being made right now, and this book will show you how to use this software to your own best advantage. It includes a great deal of well presented general information about computer security, without sliding into techno-paranoia, a common flaw with books on the subject. The general user should feel much more confident with their software after reading this book, and the specialist will appreciate the careful collation of so much information into a single well-written text.
