This 1997 first edition provides a compete look at all of the major airlines of North America and the aircraft they fly. This description may be from another edition of this product.
The second edition of the NAAH is out, and it's definitely worth the wait. The airlines' addresses and fleets have been updated, the pictures are all new, and an extra chapter, on the airlines of Central America, has been added. I think the NAAH is one of the best values out there - it has most of the information that's in reference volumes that cost $50 and up, and it's definitely much easier to take to the airport!
Extremely thorough review of airlines of all sizes

Even the most obscure commuter airlines of remote canada were covered. I liked the way that it didn't ignore that commuter airlines are actually their own companies -- not just subsidiaries of their long-haul partners
A Must-Have For Any Commercial Aviation Buff

This is a must-have at the airport and just around at the house. A great reference with over 150 color photos of aircraft. This is a great book! I wish Airways magazine would make a more recent, up-to date one, though. A great reference book + a great airline magazine (Airways)= a great book. This not only has the big airlines but also some other small ones operating out of small airports. I just can't say how much this book has taught me and what a great thing it is to have.
A great reference book for airplane buffs.

If you've ever wondered what kind of airplane that airliner was, you can probably find an example in this book. Several airlines have colorful custom paint jobs that you can see a sample of in here. You'll find information about where an airline flies, the headquarters address, it's web page, and even how many aircraft of different types that each listed airline has. The information was pretty accurate when the book was published a year ago, I hope they come out with a revised edition soon. I'll be purchasing one if they do.A "MUST BUY" for travellers, airplane aficianados, pilots, controllers... anyone interested in commercial aviation.
The NAAH - don't go to the airport without it!

The North American Airlines Handbook is an excellent summary of every airline in the USA, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean - even Greenland! Major airlines have a one to two page entry which includes the airline's address, executives, fleet, and the cities served. An "action" photograph of one of the airline's aircraft is also included. The name, address, CEO, and fleet of smaller freight and charter airlines are included in a table at the back of each country's section. This book is really handy for airline industry jobseekers, people who like to watch airplanes, or anyone else who needs quick facts on airlines headquartered in North America.
