Really nice autobiography of a very positive thinking person.

This book starts out covering what seems like ancient history -- the early 20th century -- when it ends in the 1990's, it still seems like a long time ago, perhaps seeming irrelevant, but the personal history makes important moments in social history accessible. It's astonishing the humble and positive outlook Ms. Kuhn had through the personal problems like her brother being insitutionalized for mental illness and her early bilateral mastectomy that may have been unnecessary. Maggie Kuhn is inspiring and important.

Social Reformer

This is a very readable biography of Maggie Kuhn. While lately known for her role in Gray Panthers, Maggie has dedicated her entire life to improving social conditions and empowerment of women. She says "Speak your mind--even if your voice shakes. Well-aimed slingshots can topple giants."
