Witty Story to Teach Children about Counting Money

"In the money world, the Royal Rulers, both silver half dollars, spun on their floating dollar. Far away, they saw shiny Peasant Penny spinning like them. The rulers stopped in mid-spin." The story is set in medieval times and was written for preschoolers and early elementary aged students. More than an educational tool, the book also subtly teaches children to stand up for what they believe in and that everyone counts. The actions of the pennies also seem to imply that there is power in numbers and if you can join with other people who feel the same way you do, you can change the world. "Sirs," she began, "maybe alone we don't make much cents to you, but together we make a lot of cents." ~Penny I found this book to be very entertaining and many of the pages made me laugh. The humor seems to be mostly in the faces on the coins and in the vibrant way the story is told. ~The Rebecca Review
