I've read some of these poems several times and have come to the opposite conclusion than the reviewer who gave only one star. This poetry is what you should read if you don't want overly academic poetry that makes sense only to the author. Some poets use such a personal system of symbols and meanings that you have no idea what's going on - not the case here. These remind me a bit of Stephen Dobyns - a little bittersweet with a little humor.
Good stuff

There are some images in these poems that have stayed with me since I read them years ago. That's pretty rare.As for the one-star rating from another reader, all I can say is that you'd have a hard time finding contemporary poetry that's less boring.
