This story has to reach the big at-risk population in the US!

This story will inspire both, at-risk kids and potential mentors! Who would not be interested in making a difference in the life of a tender age child with all the odds against him/her. And then, to see the goodness come around to save the mentor's last years life! Congratulations, a great book. And I like that the author has my same last name! We are not related, have not met him, but I am already a fan.

heartwarming

I really enjoyed this true story and was inspired how these 2 people helped each other in life. Very touching.

Judge who cares

This man does more than just "his job". He pushes the bounderies of a less than stalwart juvenile sytem to get kids the help they need. I credit him in a huge part with saving my two troubled children's lives. Nancy Rector

An uplifting tale of HOPE

Valdez has a remarkable tale to tell. One of Hope and and human compassion. "No One Makes It Alone" is a story of how one person CAN make a difference. I highly recomend this book to all.
