If you've ever lived in a large family you should read this book. Absolutly wonderful! Totally related to all the charactors. They acted like my brothers. We never had much, but the kids in this book had even less. It's a wonderful book about hard work, and familys.
amazing!

This is such a great book all around. The boys in this novel remind me of my own childhood- crazy pranks, trouble at school, girls, anything to fit in and have fun. There were moments when I laughed out loud as well as times when I cried. The only thing I didn't like was in the beginning, he seemed to take a bit too long describing the house. Other than that, it was great! Definitely one of my favorites that I'll read again and again.
What a fantastic book!

This book made me laugh out-loud, cry, and sigh. It was the most wonderful book about a family, a boy, and his growing up and learning. It was superbly written, and I really enjoyed it. Plus, I had lived in the area it was set in, (around Brigham City, Utah) and we had just moved to ND. It talked about places that I've been, and it made me homesick. I really, really loved this book, it is one of the best Mormon fiction I have ever read.
