Very Moving Story

This is a wonderful and emotional book! I was almost tempted not to read it, because the title was not too compelling. However, this is one of the two books that have ever brought me to tears while reading it. Foster truly captures the essence of each character in this story. The reader feels like they are truly living in the West Indies in the 1960s. I felt every hardship, every battle, and every triumph that the characters did in this book. Excellent read!

An enjoyable read!

Too bad this book is out of print and I can't have my own copy. I found this book most entertaining. At times I was moved to anger. As a fellow West Indian I can identify with alot of the plot and some of the characters. Well done!

Excellent novel

This novel should make interesting reading for all West Indians. Brings back memories of life as it was in the 1960's. One can truly relate to the characters in the book, in fact they could have been your neighbours. Well done Mr. Foster.
