A book that offers on a positive look on life.

In times like these, when everything seems so gloomy with the economy the way it is, this is a good book to read because it is encouraging, uplifting and filled with hope. Louise Lewis does some searching to find out what exactly is the meaning of life and ends up writing this book during a time when she's unemployed. A time, it turns out, that ends up being a major turning point in her life. Early in the book Lewis talks about being alone and single. She mentions a time when her friends forgot about her birthday and so she ended up celebrating alone. This, however, happened to be a blessing in disguise; if anything had happened differently, this book might not exist today. I like the way she did her "research" and interviewed everyday common people, just like you and me, for this book and have them share their thoughts on what the meaning of life is. I think this made the whole book better because it has a sort of spontaneous feel to it as opposed to everything being all planned out. She writes about a time when she went out driving, not knowing exactly where she was going but knew she had to go somewhere, and right at that moment she was guided by "Spirit" and was told where to go. Once there, she found the reason for being there and ended up getting a different perspective on life. She seems to be a very spiritual person who is often guided by "Spirit" in her daily activities In this book you'll get to see the many hopes, fears, and dreams of many people and may come to realize that they, not surprisingly, look something like yours. This is the kind of book you get for your friends and family...I highly recommend it!

Honest and enjoyable

So you're not a heavy reader.....that's okay, neither am I. But do you need a little laughter? Or perhaps you've been holding back on a good cry? Well this may be the book for you. Not only will it fulfill those needs but it will probably have you scratching your head, asking yourself, `what is my meaning of life'. I highly recommend reading "No Experts Needed: The Meaning of Life According to You. It's thought provoking, warm and enlightening. Who knows, it may have you listening a little closer to `Spirit'.

Very Good!

What a fun and pleasurable Book to read. I couldn't put it down. Embarking on this unknown pleasure, I became increasingly hooked on the insight, humor and poignant message the author shared. I continually understood her message was one that I knew but never thought about in such understandable terms. The most exciting, loving and unforgettable part of my life was from learning her message. Paraphrased, (When the square peg doesn't fit, quit trying to force it and let YOUR sprit guide you!) It will not fail you! You will be happy no matter what the result. She has made me realize that this is what I did to free myself to know what an unbelievably loving relationship is all about. I only hope I can continue to use it in ALL my experience. I hope you will read this Book in the time of your life when you are ready to accept it's message. If it is not your time you will eventually remember and see how beautiful it is but you will have lost valuable time trying to control what is best left to your spirit.

A book of self-discovery

Reviewed by Lori Plach for Reader Views (10/07) Losing a job has probably happened to everyone at least once in their lifetime. Do you see losing your job as devastating or an opportunity to discover something different in your life? It all depends on how you look at it. Louise Lewis had lost her job of eleven years. There were all the emotional and financial concerns to get through. She had a mortgage which required payment and needed to get back on her feet again. Where do you go for comfort when a blow likes one gets delivered to you? Louise decides to embrace life and find out just what life means. Through many interviews with people and getting their definitions of life, a book is born. Sometimes people are brought into our life for just a time and for a specific purpose. There is comfort in the scriptures as noted many times throughout the text of this book. "No Experts Needed" is more than just a book in dealing with job loss. It is a book of self-discovery, insights into what life is, and how to make the most of every opportunity as it is presented. The book doesn't bring out the expert's advice, but rather everyday people who share what they believe, and how they face the bumps along the road of life. If you catch yourself wondering just what life means, you can come to your own decisions. There are truly "no experts needed" when making life what you want it to be.

Refreshing and a must read!!!!!

Louise has done what I did not think was humanly possible. She has gone to people from one gammitt to the other and asked the question "What is the meaning of life?" In this world of negativity and seemingly at times only the bad things. She has made me realize that people have a true sense of what life is for them. What was so amazing was that so many had the words God and love in their answers. This really sums it all up. Years ago I read Rick Warren's Purpose Driven Life and it changed my life. It made me realize what and who I was for. Louise has done the same thing for me. She has made a difference in my thinking on life, and so glad I am part of God's plan. Thanks Louise for your leap of faith. Go Girl!!
