Book Overview

"What a box of tricks! This full-throttle thriller, dark and driving, rivals Agatha Christie for sheer ingenuity and James Patterson for flat-out speed. Swift, sharp, and relentless." -- A. J. Finn, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Woman in the Window

A brilliant, edgy thriller about four strangers, a blizzard, a kidnapped child, and a determined young woman desperate to unmask and outwit a vicious psychopath.

A kidnapped little girl locked in a stranger's van. No help for miles. What would you do?

On her way to Utah to see her dying mother, college student Darby Thorne gets caught in a fierce blizzard in the mountains of Colorado. With the roads impassable, she's forced to wait out the storm at a remote highway rest stop. Inside are some vending machines, a coffee maker, and four complete strangers.

Desperate to find a signal to call home, Darby goes back out into the storm . . . and makes a horrifying discovery. In the back of the van parked next to her car, a little girl is locked in an animal crate.

Who is the child? Why has she been taken? And how can Darby save her?

There is no cell phone reception, no telephone, and no way out. One of her fellow travelers is a kidnapper. But which one?

Trapped in an increasingly dangerous situation, with a child's life and her own on the line, Darby must find a way to break the girl out of the van and escape.

But who can she trust?

With exquisitely controlled pacing, Taylor Adams diabolically ratchets up the tension with every page. Full of terrifying twists and hairpin turns, No Exit will have you on the edge of your seat and leave you breathless.

Awesome book

Kept me on edge of my seat, I could not put this book down!

Very good

I thought it was an intense and easy read. Looked forward to picking it and reading whenever I got the chance.

All hype and lies.

What a let down. Anyone that praises this book as riveting and terrifying has never read a really great thriller. This book was so cliched and basic. I’ve read or watched every scene and character before. Try John Hart, Tim Johnston, Meg Gardner, Don Winslow or Claire North. This is a BookTok flavor of the month publisher con job. Send me free books and give us good reviews. What a scam.

Thrilling Tensions: A Rollercoaster of Emotions in 'No Exit' by Taylor Adams

"No Exit" by Taylor Adams is a psychological thriller where Darby Thorne gets trapped with strangers during a snowstorm at a rest stop. As she tries to find a way out, she discovers a kidnapped girl in a van. The story unfolds with suspense, twists, and the characters' secrets, making it a gripping and intense thriller. 1. **Plot and Storytelling:** 3/5 The story was a nail biter almost the entire way through. By the 25% mark it had me drawn in. I did not see the twist coming. However, were moments where I was bored and frustrated with the characters leading me to knock the score down to a 3. 2. **Characterization:** 5/5 These characters were well done. Darby was very real. The villains were frustrating, realistic, and scary. 3. **Writing Style:** 5/5 Taylor Adam’s did a fantastic job writing. He evoked emotion, kept the plot moving, and wove a thrilling story. 4. **Originality:** 4/5 I haven’t read another book quite like this. It was a unique take on an all too possibly real situation. 5. **Emotional Impact and Resolution:** 3/5 This book had me on the edge of my seat. I did find myself frustrated at times and the ending wasn’t ideal to me. Overall rating: 4/5 If you enjoyed "No Exit," you might find Riley Sager's and Ruth Ware's works appealing. Riley Sager is known for psychological thrillers like "Final Girls" and "The Last Time I Lied," while Ruth Ware has written gripping novels such as "The Woman in Cabin 10" and "In a Dark, Dark Wood." Both authors excel in creating suspenseful narratives with intriguing plots and well-crafted characters, making them worth considering for your next read.

Disappointed

I was SO excited to read this. It sounded like such an interesting premise that would be very creepy but the "mystery" was solved within the first maybe 30 pages and the rest was the main girl running away and trying to escape. I kept reading because i was expecting some sort of twist but it never came

Absolute page-turner!

It will keep you guessing! One of my favorite thrillers!

I couldn’t put it down

The twists & turns… I mean I have been slapping my knee every time something changes that I didn’t see coming. A MUST read. I hope the movie holds up to the book.

Great read!

This book had everything! Was definitely scary and would make your heart race!!!
