I bought this book in San Francisco and read it to my children for years. I wanted to purchase a new book as a gift for a friend's grandchild and am disappointed that it is not available new. It is such a great story about accepting yourself, a must read for parents and children.

Tomkins has exceptional skill

I am sorry to see that Jasper Tomkins does not have any books to purchase, I hope they print another edition soon.I can remembering meeting the author at a Young Authors convention 15 years ago and being impressed with books like Nimby and the Catalog.I hope that we see more of his books in print soon.

I agree that the publisher needs to get the presses rolling again. I am 52 years old and I still love this book. I was crushed when I came to buy a copy for a friend's child and I could not get one.

My daughter still loves this book at 14 years of age!!

A terrific book. Came looking for a copy for a friend who just had a baby & I am disheartened to find it is out of print!!! Get the presses rolling again on this one!

A great book for everyone, not just kids

Right now, I'm seventeen years old and i still love Nimby. When i was little, my mother used to read it to me all the time. I loved it then, even though i didn't fully understand its message. As i grew older and understood the conformist vs. non-conformist views, the book had an even bigger impact on me. i was looking it up because i have a wonderful non-conformist friend, my age, who would love this book. this is really an undiscovered masterpeice which should be read by everyone, over and over. I reccomend everyone who values the differences in all human beings (and in this case a cloud and an island)find a copy of this book and read it over and over. you will not be disappointed.
