Extraordinary

I was 9 years old when I first read this book and I can honestly say that this is the best book that I've ever read! I have read it three times and have been unable to locate another book anything like it. It sheds a fasinating and very real light on the natural world. The book is far better than the TV series (even though that was very good!)

An excellent book!

This book is a must for anyone interested in dangerous creatures. It covers nearly everything from the big cats to maruading army ants and includes accounts of real life encounters. I highly recommend it.

Approachable science and real life monsters

Fabulous photography and very readable text. It has gotten rave reviews from my three boys ages 7, 11 and 13. It manages to cover the crawlers and biters without being grisley, and has a sort of hard cover National Geographic feel to it.
