Fast paced, over too soon

Love Radclyffe's books. It's always fun to see characters from previous books, showing up in unexpected ways. Would love to see a sequel to the Honor and Quinn story, "Fated Love."

night call

the book was very entertaining. a page turner that keeps you not wanting to put it down

Seat of your pants joy ride!!!

Top rate story! Exhilarating and Sexy.. Fabulous novel. I truly enjoy this author's work and find her writing, turn of phrase and pacing of her novels addictive. I only wish I could have stayed home from work to read this in one day as I did not want to put it down. We have helicopter pilot Jett McNally who recently left the US military after thirteen years and is keeping to herself, for more than one reason, in her new position flying the night shift for a hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Tristan Holmes at twenty-nine is a highly qualified doctor who comes into frequent contact with Jett when dangerous rescues by helicopter may be the only means to save a life. From Radclyffe's beautiful novel 'Fated Love', Dr. Quinn Maguire young trauma surgeon and her partner Dr. Honor Blake chief of the emergency room await the birth of their child while juggling everything that goes with a two income growing family, work, and friends. Back in the Saddle Again

I was worried for a while, but it seems that recently Radclyffe is truly back in the writing saddle. Several of her more recent books have been a little less outstanding than her earlier stuff. However, `Night Call' is the third truly good one she's released in quite a while and this reader thinks she's on a roll. Jett McNally flies medivac helicopter on the night shift. As a former soldier, she craves the excitement of her job and almost looks forward to the tragedies she faces every night. That becomes especially true when she meets anesthesiologist Tristan Holmes during a flight. The women have an immediate attraction. However, for their own reasons, both resist looking for anything from each other. Jett has had her heart broken by a woman who wouldn't return her love. Tristan can't fathom giving up the single life. But, they're both surrounded by examples of what love can be and they're having a hard time resisting the pull. In `Night Shift,' Rad brings back characters from FATED LOVE, making it a pseudo-companion piece (of course reading FATED LOVE first makes a lot of sense here). This tactic gives the story much more depth and gives her more space to develop the new protagonists into wonderful and complete characters. One other thing to note is the author takes advantage of the I-35W bridge collapse in Minneapolis. Toward the end of the book, the characters deal with that tragedy and some are more impacted than others. I love it when real-life events can be worked into a story. Bottom Line - Fantastic, as usual, from the queen of this genre. This consistent pattern of great novels lately makes me truly anxious for her next book. It's a good idea to read FATED LOVE first, but not absolutely necessary. Do yourself a favor, grab this one and carve out a day in your favorite reading spot.

Another Radclyffe Winner!

With Night Call Radclyffe is back with another exciting medical drama, which the retired surgeon always does exceptionally well. Jett McNally is a medevac helicopter pilot who has seen the horror of the wars in the Middle East and can only leave that behind when she's flying. She's a solid pilot, who takes chances to make sure that she brings back the injured, in civilian life as in military life. Jett's a loner, and wants nothing to do with anyone, feeling comfortable to take extra flying shifts, avoiding time with others. Dr. Tristian Holmes is an anesthesiologist who is big on sex for sex sake..no strings attached. She likes it that way and steers clear of anything that the word "relationship" could be applied to. She's in a stressful job but the adrenalin is what she likes. If you've read Fated Love you will remember Honor and Quinn as the main characters in that story. Much to my delight they appear in Night Call as more than just having camio roles, as they also have a story that is told in this book. This was a truly enjoyable read. It was also a HOT read. No one can write love scenes like Radclyffe and once again she shows why she's the master. This book has all of the elements that we've come to expect (and hope for) from this very prolific author and publisher. I was not disappointed.
