I had never heard of Nicholas Winton before and was unaware of his heroic acts in saving almost 700 children fron the Nazu Regime. He was working as a stockbroker for a British Firm and was sent to work in Czechoslavakia in 1938. As the influence of the Germans rose, he saw the extreme danger that many people were in and he took it upon himself to do something to be of aid to those in distress. This work of non-fiction shows what can be done by one person if they pesevere in their actions. This was truly an act of heroism that is unnoticed by many until a movie, The Power of Good, was releases in 2002. The movie brought his good works to light. Winton has since been knighted by his country of England and a resolution was passed by Congress praising him. The book contains many questions that can begin lively discussions. It is extremely well done amd is thought provoking.
