A Book That Lasts

Nice New Shoes is as cheerful as a bright, sunny day. First, this book rhymes. For example, the first line is "Mommy and Daddy have very good news. It's time to buy baby her very first shoes." Also, there are many positive attitudes. One example of this is a grocery man complimenting baby on her new shoes by saying, "What pretty new shoes!" Last, the pictures are simple and easy for a young child to understand yet they still illustrate what is happening. I would recommend this book for children in preschool through kindergarten. This book was one of my all-time favorites when I was young and I still enjoy reading it today, seven years later in 6th grade.
