Book Overview

UNEXPECTED UNDEAD BREAK-UP Nothing sucks the romance out of world travel like a boyfriend who may or may not have broken up with you in a hotel room in Brussels. Jane Jameson's sexy sire Gabriel has always been unpredictable, but the seductive, anonymous notes that await him at each stop of their international vacation, coupled with his evasive behavior over the past few months, finally push Jane onto the next flight home to Half Moon Hollow -- alone,...

Hysterical Read

I was really looking forward to this book, and it didn't disappoint. I couldn't put it down, and finished it in one night, at some points laughing out loud for minutes at a time! Definitely one of the better books (and series) in the vampire genre, and I am quite disappointed this was the final book!

Hate to see this series end!

This series has been such fun and very funny. I strongly recommend reading the three books in order to get the most enjoyment out of each.

Nice Girls don't live forever

The third of an a possible trilogy (since I don't know if they'll be any future Jane Jameson books) was as fantastic as the first two. Jane's after life get totally turn upside down as she breaks up with her vampire sire and boyfriend, has her book store broken in to and have a series of death attacks from a psycho that Gabriel sired long ago. Jane tries to stand on her own two feet doing stuff like joining fall festival, tending her school reunion and trying to make peace with sister Jenny while her mother is driving her crazy with I have a vampire in the family pride. Not to mention deals with were wolf wife of Jane friend Jeb being pregant with twins on the way. The only thing i find confusing about this book is things going from marriage being illegal for vampires to certain vampire couples in this story talking about marriage and bridesmaids in the future. Nice touch with Jane book store mention another vampire romance writers by name.

delightful vampire tale

A drunk thought Jane Jameson was a deer and shot her. As she lay dying, the vampire Gabriel turns her into a creature of the night like he is (see Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs). They forge a unique relationship of sire and fledgling as well as lovers. They are touring Europe, but Jane knows her mate is not having a good time because at each hotel they stop at he receives a letter that he refuses to discuss with her. In Brussels, Jane finally sees one of letters sent by Jeanine; it reads like a love letter. Tired of the strange calls, the secret letters, and his refusal to explain what is bothering him, she leaves returning to Half Moon Hollow by herself. She opens a new bookstore aimed at vampires as customers. She also tries to find a way to get her friend's Zeb's house built as his wife's family keeps sending the construction crews away. Jane begins receiving threatening letters warning her to stay away from Gabriel or else. With her life in danger, she needs to persuade her sire to tell her the truth. Molly Harper has written another delightful vampire tale (see Nice Girls don't Date Dead Men) filled with romance, intrigue and a strong cast. Some family members are in denial refusing to accept Jane's Undead living condition especially her sister and grandmother who want her booted out the family. This leads to some humorous scenarios that act as a counter to the threat. Although the plot is a bit thin, fans will enjoy this nice girl who has adapted quickly to living forever. Harriet Klausner

Excellent book, great series

I loved these books. Finally, someone who can write funny, who can describe serious scenes, who has a character that is interesting, smart, clever and intelligent enough to know she's a neurotic screw-up at times. The characters all were well-developed and interesting, from her great-aunt who's a ghost, to her best friend, who marries a werewolf after meeting her at a self-help group for familes and friends of the undead. Jane is a little whiny at times, but she does try to be more self-aware and restrain herself. Her internal monologue is comical because she's not trying to be funny; she just IS funny as she tries to come to grips with being a newly-turned vampire. The issues she faces are interesting as well; prejudice from the living is an on-going problem. All in all; hilarious, engaging, and intelligent. I hope there's more Jane Jameson to come from Molly Harper. She really has a gift.
