Bridget's Review

Derek is excited because he may become partner at the law firm he works for. He's also very smitten with Maria, a co-worker. The problem is, Maria plans to marry someone else. When Derek is handed a case that he can't possibly win, he begins to panic. This is an entertaining novel that is unlike anything I've read before. Derek is an extremely lovable character whose determination can't be thwarted.

Legal farce and romantic comedy!

This book is a great look at how law and law firms really works through the eyes of an attorney who's been there! Totally different than the legal thriller - which I also devour - this book satirizes the legal profession, and does it well. I found everything believable about the office, the court, and even the now-taboo subject of office romance.

Legal System = Justice?

This book, billed as a farce about lawyers, raises serious questions about the legal system and the way people who are injured obtain justice or can just as easily be left out in the cold. It was quite unsettling to see how the whole thing works, or works sometimes, or is seen to work by someone who was a lawyer for a long time. Are lawyers really this callous and mercenary? Probably. And are they actually such buffoons? Either way, Schmahmann succeeds in making the whole thing funny, and maybe it is. He does write really well.

Nibble & Kuhn

I would imagine the guessing game is about to begin. Which law firm is being lampooned? From my experience of big city law firms, there will be many contenders for the 'honor'. And from what I've seen, it could be any of them. About time too. I couldn't put the book down.

Delicious "Nibble"!

Nibble & Kuhn is fresh, utterly engaging, and laugh-your-hoo-hoo-off witty! Even the unsettlingly-familiar human resources machinations made me laugh--such is the glory and distance of fiction. I loved the pacing, energy, the non-boring insights into the legal profession (who knew that was possible?), and most of all the thoughtfully-conceived, diverse, and humane (except when not) characters.
