The best post college job hunting guide I have ever read.

As an HR Manager I often run into recent college grads trying to land their first real career. After reading Jack O'Brien's book I became convinced that if anyone really follows his advice they couldn't help but land a good job quickly. Jack's advice is based on his success principles learned in his years in business. Simply stated, it takes more than just posting your resume on the Internet to get a good job these days. It takes planning, tenacity, creativity and a lot of good networking. This book gives you a no-nonsense plan on seeking out that first career and then gives you the added bonus of sharing tips on setting up your life after college. While some of the technology mentioned is a bit out of date it does nothing to detract from the books overall message: Success in life after college is up to you and you alone. Pay close attention to his tips on interviewing, planning your week, follow up letters and post college finances. If you do what he says you will be able to start your new life on the right foot.

Good solid advice!

I bought a copy of this book for each of my children, and I read it myself when I was challenged with finding a position in a new career field. This book contained good solid advice for all three of us.

I wish I had this book earlier

This is a must have for every graduate out there. The book provided great tips for surviving the real world after coming out of college. If I would have had it 10 years earlier I would have saved myself a lot of lessons learned the hard way. I have read all of the author's books and have my own personal library. I am now happily employed doing something I love and I owe it to Mr. O'Brien's great advice.
