Great Book for a Lazy Afternoon

I love this book series because it deals with real life situations, real things teens have to deal with, normal aspirations, and the importance of friends. This book, the first in the series, follows Barbie's adventures. (Each book follows a different girl) This is the perfect beginner book and I read my favorite parts of it about every day. Barbie moves away from her comfy, sheltered home in California and into an apartment with friends of her parents' all the way across the country in NY. Barbie encounters a very outspoken girl on a subway while trying to get a seat for an elderly gentleman. The girl helps Barbie get a seat, but then vanishes as mysteriously as she appeared. Later, Barbie's first friend is robbed of one of her most treasured possesions, her paint box. Barbie sees the girl she met on the subway skating away with the box and knows there must be a mistake, but is it worth risking her friendship to not report the girl?Meanwhile, life is flying at a typical New York pace, Barbie has been offered a spot in a commercial, met more friends and is trying to keep in touch with her family back home. This is a book you've got to read not because it's the introductory book but because there's always something fascinating going on. As for the resolution, well, you're just going to have to read the book!

A Great Book

This book shows Barbie as a teenager and her friends. All the girls are different, and have goals and dreams just as teenagers do in this day and age. It protrays reality, and shows how it is to be a teenager. This isn't a book where Barbie is perfect or a super model. No, this book is Barbie and her friends as teenagers. This really has the message of Girls Can Do Anything. It's not just Barbie anymore... it's real life.

best book ever

It is so cool. It gives alot of details about what the girls do. It is good for girls of any age. If you finish the first one you will want to read the next. There are so many surprises. It tells what life is like for Barbie and her friends. The first book is about Barbie and moving to New York away from her family, Making new friends, and having fun. It was agreat book!(Even if you don't play barbies.)

Good book for all ages

This book is wonderful, very realistic. Even if you do not like Barbie, you should read it. It is more about highschool life than about Barbie. And if you do like Barbie you should read it too. Everybody will enjoy this book :-)

A GREAT book for teen girls!

I loved this book soooo much! I have four of the Generation Girl books and they are the BEST! Even if Barbie isn't your thing(which it isn't mine)they still are great books to read. You can relate to the girls really well. You can go to their webpage [online]. You can take a quiz there and see which girl you are most like. Barbie is from Malibu, California and is an aspiring young actress and filmaker. Tori is from Australia and loves all extreme sports. Nichelle is a stunning teen model from Harlem. Ana is from Spanish Harlem and is a swimming, track, and soccer star. Lara is from Paris, France and is a talented painter. And Chelsie is from London, England and is an awesome songwriter, and poet. These 6 girls all might in an international highschool! Read these books they are GREAT!*Lianne(Generation Girl)
