Stan's Journeys

I have read all of Stan's books. What I find different about this book is the angle to which he has taken. The other books were glimpes into a particular journey. This book was a glimpse at a lifetime of experience.

Truthful and touching

If you are a fan of Garrison Keillor's Lake Wobegon stories, you will love Stan Purdum's tales of a pastor and his parishioners in rural Ohio. These stories of greasy but heroic mechanics, sin-haunted bachelors, panicky brides, and emotionally-damaged foster children are both truthful and touching. Whether you are a member of a congregation, or simply an experienced people-watcher, you will appreciate Purdum's ability to capture the humor, heartache, and hope that is found in communities everywhere.

New Mercies I See

Stan Purdum, our pastor and friend, has given us a glimpse into his life in the church in New Mercies I See. A very gifted writer, his short stories cover a wide range of experiences as he has led his flock through a variety of situations. The stories offer humor, pathos and hope, and we highly recommend this book.

Solid and Sincere...

New Mercies I See is a solid and sincere work by a gifted writer. The book reflects the spirituality and mind power of Stan Purdum, a pastor/writer I have known for a quarter of a century. The reader will find food for the spirit and insights to ponder in its pages. I heartily recommend this thoughtful book for anyone who enjoys a helpful exercise for the mind and spirit.--Dr. Charles Ferrell, retired pastor, Mesa, AZ
