Not mine necessarily but those of Dr. Kelly. This book is written in a lovely manner- taking as it was originally a set of sermons preached in an expository style, it somehow translates into a very readable and easy to digest book which takes God's word first and builds the ideas out from it. Those ideas are more or less as the Title suggests the cost and glory of following Christ in a true Christian ministry. This book has helped me to understand that going into full time ministry will require a great cost (whether it is exhaustion or giving totally of yourself to those you minister) it will be cost that you will have to be aware of and realize the need to pay it. If this cost sounds to high, just as Paul did with the Corinthians so does Dr. Kelly by stating the insurmountable glory that comes with following Christ fully. This book will both scare you and stir in you a mightily desire for Christ. The cost is great, but the burden is light. This book should be read by anyone thinking about full or substantial part time ministry to fully understand what it is you are getting in to. I can't recommend it enough and will eventually buy more copies (mine was provided free from Reformed Theological Seminary) to those who are fellow travelers in Christian ministry.
