Making emotionally and spiritually nourshing decisions can be as easy as making healthy decisions about our physical needs. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I loved this book! I loved how it talked about needing to nourish yourself and take care of your own needs before you can help others. I love how he talks about being your own self and that you can not find happiness or fulfillment in trying to fulfill someone else’s path instead of your own. He couldn’t have said it better when he said: When we carry the responsibility for another person, which that person ought to be carrying personally, we are involved in an unhealthy relationship. I love when he talks about letting adults bear the burden of handling their own decisions. I loved when he talked about parents missing out on this once in a lifetime opportunity to nourish our children and that we need to be with them and spend quantity time with them.
Chapter 5 is a must read!!! Chapter 9 was amazing!!! It really hit home for me.
Quotes from this book that I liked:
—-The basic responsibility for being nourished is yours, not anybody else’s.
—-I am responsible for what happens from now on, not the perpetrator.
—-A nourishing life is not a perfect life.
—- Those of us who have experienced the destruction of abusive relationships tend to have a feeling that we are personally responsible for all hurting people who come our way.
This is fantastic book! I am so glad I read it! I will read it again!!
