This a great book to read for those (unlike me) who are not accustomed to reading philosophy and therefore is not familiar with jargons of philosophy. Manning writes in an engaging, sharp and acessible manner without dumbing down any of his challenging ideas. His writing is truly thought-provoking without resorting to weak shock tactics. Although, from a neo-constructivist perspective, the man is the greatest pornographer of his generation. Most especially, I find all his talk about Nietzsche sickening. It's a great guide to making change in your community (or country). But at the same time, it is just foolish stuff trying to be academic and thoughtful. There are much better books to read on this subject. This is a handbook for fighting the good fight for the return of a little sanity in the government workplace, but please: Let's move on from the nonsense of these kinds of government guru books! Our governments are already messed up enough to have our government officials follow this advice. Who buys this carp?
