A Fast, Wild Ride!

When Helen Bradshaw announces her engagement to Collin Marlow her twin sister Torie decides to go prove that he is not the man for her. Torie gets more than she bargained for when she arrives on a South American Island to visit a day early while Helen is off shopping for the perfect wedding gown. When Torie is caught taking photographs of Collin's murder she is forced to run for her life. The twin's father, General Bradshaw, is also in dislike of Helen's choice for a husband and sent Matt Callahan, a national spy to save his daughter Helen from a bad choice. When he arrives on the island and finds Torie hiding and running for her life, he helps her escape -- and then learns she is not Torie, but the "evil" sister who is disliked by many for her choice to be a paparazzo. Matt manages to save both Torie and himself and get them off the island, but only after getting shot. After months of surgery and physical therapy, they have pronounced him as good as new, but he finds his leg is too weak to be working in the field and is not interested in a desk job, so he takes himself home to recoup his life. When Torie shows up on his doorstep he is not interested in helping a woman who ruined his life, but cannot resist when he realizes how scared she is of her stalker. NEVER SAY NEVER is definitely a tale of never going to happens. This fast paced novel is well written and intriguing but left this reviewer thinking "never gonna happen" more than once. This is the novel James Bond stars in, not your everyday romance. The plot is hard core and well planned, fast paced and yet this reviewer still felt on the outskirts of the entire storyline. Geralyn Dawson has definitely written a novel worth reading. Her characters are need driven; her scenes are tight and tidy. She brings mystery and intrigue to the contemporary romance world in a way this reviewer was not expecting. Two phrases that continued to pop into this readers mind was "wow, hot" and "ouch, painful" from her sex scenes to her running for her life scenes Ms. Dawson has her writing style down pat. This novel is a fast read because Ms. Dawson creates a need to know what is going to happen. The drama in Torie's life when she is running scared is a powerful motivator. This is a book to be devoured! This reader may not have connected emotionally with the characters but they did leave her reeling and wanting to know just how the plot would turn out. "Double--Oh--Yeah!!"

CIA Operative Matt Callahan is the oldest of the four sexy Callahan brothers (Matthew, Mark, Luke (GIVE HIM THE SLIP)and John) of Brazos Bend, Texas. Nicknamed "Demon" as a troublemaking teen, Matt and his brothers were known for their wild antics. Their mother died when they were young, and their father, overcome with grief, was emotionally unavailable to them for years. Matt always looked after his younger brothers and felt responsible for his part in his younger brother John's violent death. Matt meets free spirit Torie Bradshaw on a South American island when he agrees to do a favor for her father, General Bradshaw. The General wants Matt to rescue his favorite daughter, scientist Dr. Helen Bradshaw, from suspected drug lords/terrorists. But Torie is Helen's twin, the black sheep of the family, and Matt mistakenly rescues the wrong sister. Torie is a photographer, a celebrity paparazzo, and she is visiting Helen to check out her sister's unsavory fiancee when she inadvertantly witnesses and photographs a murder. She's literally running for her life when Matt steps in to save her. There is instant chemistry between them--Torie, who's a James Bond buff, sees Matt as her own real life "double O-yeah", and Matt, who's been fantasizing about Torie (who her thinks is Helen) after watching her for a day, is smitten. But what starts out as an exhilerating escape from the bad guys and a smoldering sexual attraction, ends with a thud when Torie accidentally shoots Matt in the leg, effectively ending his career as a field agent. Eighteen months later Torie reappears in Matt's life at his Texas winery/vineyard, asking for his protection when she is threatened by a stalker. Matt is ambivalent about helping Torie. Although he can't deny the attraction he still feels for her, he also resents her for basically ending his career, and she's another distraction he feels he doesn't need. Matt has his own problems with his manipulative father, and he and his brothers are all battling their own demons. Does he really need all the problems helping Torie would bring? When the stalker's threats become more personal, it's enough for Matt to commit to helping Torie and he keeps her hidden in Brazos Bend. Their relationship reignites, and what starts out as a sexy one night stand turns into much more. Torie knows it's love, but can Matt ever admit to Torie and himself what he feels for her? I loved this book, it was fast paced and I couldn't put it down! Torie is a wonderful heroine--full of life, honest and gutsy: she lays her heart on the line, actually admiting her feelings for Matt, and this scares him. Matt is the typical sexy alpha hero, pretending that his feelings for Torie are nothing but sexual attraction and afraid to admit what she really means to him until it's almost too late. The dialogue and banter between the two is both sexy and often humorous, and there are many hot and steamy moments. The ending was very endearing, and plays i

exhilarating "Holy Terrors of Brazos Bend" romantic suspense

Photographer Torie Bradshaw and Matt one of the "Holy Terrors of Brazos Bend" Callahan meet on a tropical island off the coast of South America. She happens to be there at the request of her twin sister Helen so she could see that Collin Marlowe was not a snake; besides catching Collin kissing a bikini, she also photographed someone killing him on his yacht. Matt is also on the godforsaken island at a Bradshaw request; though his is more of an order from Torie's father a General Officer. However, their mutual intervention turns ugly with the murder of Collin, but they survive. Eighteen months later back home in Texas; Torie realizes someone is stalking her. She figures her safety is with "James Bond" Matt so with her pampered dog in hand (literally) she invades his home. As their initial attractive spark ignites into love, he knows he must stop a killer before she is hurt, but he wonders how he can get rid of that pesky canine. The second "Holy Terrors of Brazos Bend" romantic c suspense thriller (see GIVE HIM THE SLIP) is an exhilarating action-packed tale that can be summed up by the hero who on his second encounter with the military brat informs her that he has had wet dreams about her. Fans will enjoy reading their attraction, antics, and adventures; as this sensational saga is an enjoyable novel. Harriet Klausner
