LEAVE NENE ALONE!

It cant be easy having your life splashed all over TV. We cant judge til we've walked in her shoes. Plus, I can tell she has a big heart deep down, but she usually operates in a protective mode....probably from past hurts & traumas. Give her a break.

Good Read

This book is an easy and a good read. It's not a cure for cancer or how to solve world peace. What it is a good time as though you're sitting in with a good girlfriend whose telling you all about her life. Just like the show, this book did not disappoint. I'm not surprised that it was a good read since the "ghost writer" is Denene Millner who is also responsible for Steve Harvey's book success. The flow of the book is more like a conversation than a chronological guide into Nene's life. I'm glad she mentions Kim and Sheree in the book because I definitely did not understand those friendships. Don't overthink it...it is what it is! Just enjoy it with some quiet time and a beverage of choice.

Great Read!

This book was so funny!!!! It felt as if I was sitting on the sofa talking to one of my girlfiends about their life! Loved IT

Engaging, Entertaining and Fun: A definite page-turner

This book is no pulitzer, but it is non the less a page turner. From the moment you open the book, you won't be able to stop reading until you are finished. Mainly because Nene jumps right into her story - no foreplay. And... she holds no punches. She talks about everything from her checkered past of dancing, being in an abusive relationship, and even being arrested. She gives us more insight into the behind the scenes actions of the Housewives franchise - including her run-ins with members from the O.C.and NY cast. She reveals the betrayal of Sheree, and highlights Kim's inability to be loyal. You begin to see, at least from Nene's standpoint, why she is no longer friends with the 2 ladies. Overall, it was an extremely good read. If you watch the show, I highly recommend reading the book.

Very Impressive!

I found out just days before the events that Nene was having book signings at two locations in the Atlanta area. I decided to go immediately so that I could meet Nene. At the time I didn't have any idea what her book was truly about. I was pleasantly surprised. The book is a really good read. I read 12 of the 15 chapters in one night. The book chronicles major aspects of her life and offers the most in depth look into a housewive's life that has ever been offered. I appreciate that she was so transparent and the book is clearly written in her voice. Nene had the courage to reveal a great deal about herself and her mistakes in life. She does talk about her relationships with cast mates Kim and Sheree. She did so well within scope by dedicating two chapters to them (one to each) and they appear at the end of the book. After reading the book I feel that I have a much better understanding of her as a person and not just a personality on the Real Housewives of Atlanta. I must say that I am proud of her and hope that this book makes it onto the best seller list. The book signing I attended was at the Barnes and Noble in Buckhead. Nene entered the room and walked through the line of patrons awaiting her. She spoke, hugged and/or high fived everyone there. She was truly herself with that larger than life personality but she was very nice and personable. I thanked her for signing my book and taking a picture with me. Instead of just accepting she said, "No. Thank you". It was indeed a pleasure to make her acquaintance.
