2nd Graders love it

My second graders think the Roscoe Riley series are great! He's a character both boys and girls can relate to. They are hoping for more books in this series.

Cute series

A very cute series for young kids. Its hard to find books without mean words or violence anymore. Even harder is a positive series featuring a young boy. Kudos to the author!

We have a winner!

My 7-year-old reads at a 4th grade level, but he doesn't enjoy reading. Well, nothing aside from Pokemon books or Wrestling magazines. I've been struggling to introduce him to reading for pleasure -- a real book, you know, with chapters. This book is just what he needed. Chapter 2 is less than a page long. He liked that. I think he gets intimidated by long chapters and quickly loses interest. He read the first 5 chapters last night & wanted to read more. I'm sure he'll finish it tonight, but it's nice that he was left wanting more. I can't count how many books he never finished reading. Anyway, the book revolves around a boy who finds himself in trouble, although his actions are well-intentioned. It reads easily and quickly. The humour is really engaging. He is really enjoying reading this book. I'm sure we'll be looking for others in this series!

Enjoyable Easy Read For Struggling 8 Year Old

I picked up this book on a whim at the book store for my 8 year old son. He struggles with reading and this book seemed easy enough to read while not being too babyish of a story. I was right. He thoroughly enjoyed Roscoe's antics, not just in this book, but #2 and #3 as well. We just found out that #4 is now in the book stores. He asked me if we could go get it. I think we found a winner!

We laugh out loud

My five year old and I picked up this book and we love it. We sit together and laugh out loud at Roscoe's antics. I realized this morning, when we were reading out loud at breakfast, that he went ahead and read the entire book by flashlight last night. I believe that is his seal of approval.
