Been Waiting for This One

Been waiting for someone to do a biography of Moon, and finally he did one himself, along with the talented Don Yaeger. Moon goes into details of all the stages of his life and career, from childhood and Pop Warner, high school, college at UW, Canada, and NFL, and retirement and enshrinement into the Hall of Fame. He talks about the heartbreaking Buffalo game, the 78 Rose Bowl, and the racial comments and slurs and even death threats he endured in college and the NFL. And yes, he talks about his off-the-field troubles. That and the following chapter in which he talks about therapy and getting to understand himself and his family better are the most insightful. Those who have followed Moon throughout his career will hear some familiar stories, but there's certainly enough new information to make the purchase and the reading worthwhile. An honest and open look behind the scenes and into the mind of one of the greatest and underrated quarterbacks to play the game, I highly recommend it to any sports or football fan.
