Networking in the Music Industry by Jim Clevo and Eric Olsen provides good insight into the workings of the music industry. It covers the several aspects of the business and the different players that one would need to become acquanted with to be successful in the music world. It also includes over 50 interviews with numerous industry insiders, giving points of views from concert promoters, music magazine writers, music publishing company personnel, record label A & R people and more. The only drawback is that the book was published in 1993, so it is now quite a bit dated. (The authors should really think about a new updated edition). Despite the age of the book, it still provides good insights and techniques for networking. It would be a help to up & coming musicians and anyone looking to become a part of the music scene.
