Wonderful Book!

Having just completed my CNA, I can say without a doubt that I could not have done it without this book! When I started the course, as part of a government retraining programme, I had very little experience with computers and none at all with networking. The courseware book was perfect for me in that it explained both the general theoretical concepts and the specific practical details that I needed to know in order to pass my CNA. By the end of the course, my grasp of Netware felt almost automatic. Pretty good for an old guy who barely knew how to turn a machine on at this time last year! :-)

Definitely a winner!

I have used NetWare for many years and have tried various authors. Nothing compares to this book of you want thoroughness. The author does repeat himself but that is done to reinforce the topics. Numbering of the pages is a bit confusing. Exercises are well thought out and tested. 50 - 60% of the students using this book obtained their CNA (keep in mind that not everyone is interested in certification). This book is jammed with detail and if you do the exercises you will know NetWare 4.11 well enough to pass the CNA exam and/or be a network administrator. I can hardly wait for the NetWare 5.1 book to come out. I am sure it will be a winner also. Keep up the great work.

Very Concise and to the Point!!

Lancom did a great job of keeping the reader's interest up, by not writing useless information and having 'never ending paragraphs'that so many other books have done. The review questions have been a very good study guide and follow the Novell CNA objectives thoroughly! Lancom's support has also been very very helpful! They answer any questions you may have clearly, and more importantly, very quickly!! They don't keep you hanging on a question after you've already written the exam!! The book is layed out in a way that allows you from keeping study notes. The book is interesting in that they (Lancom) have explained concepts and ideas in detail, yet keep the main ideas summarized at the end of each section! Therefore, you just need to use the text notes as your study notes! I highly recommend this book to anyone taking their Netware CNA Exam!!!!
