A page turner

I couldn't put this book down. The twists and turns just keep coming. Zane is one of my favorite authors.

Good read 👍

I loved this book. I wish or hope that Zane would make a part 2 to this. I didn't want it to end. Glad i have it in my collection. 😊👍

A little out there

Too much going on with this book

1 part erotica +1 part psychothriller = another Zane hit

As Ludacris said in a verse from Usher's 2004 hit "Yeah!" most men want a woman who is "a lady in the streets but a freak in the bed". But what happens when one woman is a lady in the street and is a freak, just not in the bed and she doesn't realize it until it's too late? This paradoxical problem is faced by Jonquinette, the lead character of Zane's novel "Nervous" which is based on a short story from her earlier collection of erotica "The Sex Chronicles". Jonquinette is a shy young woman who finds herself not too inclined to talk to men interested in her. She doesn't consider herself a total virgin but she doesn't find herself wanting to sleep with just anyone, so her life for the most part is dull. But when the weekend rolls around, Jonquinette goes to sleep and later re-awakens not as Jonquinette, but as a foul-mouthed and sex-obsessed woman named Jude who goes out and finds wanton and virtually unsafe sexual adventures with anyone and everyone she comes in contact with to find a sexual release. This behavior goes on until Jude goes to sleep and re-awakens again as Jonquinette. Jonquinette realizes that Jude has been up to her old tricks again (leaving hints of her presence and sexual indiscretions)and realizes that this has to come to a stop here and now, so she heads to talk with Dr. Marcella Palmer, who first appeared in the novel "Addicted". When Jude resurfaces later and realizes that Jonquinette has been seeing Dr. Palmer she goes nuts and really goes full throttle on her sexual escapades. Later, Jonquinette begins to find herself attracted to a new neighbor that moves in next door. While this is a good thing for Jonquinette, Jude detests the romance because she realizes that if Jonquinette settles down with her new love interest then the sexual party is pretty much over. But will Jude do something that will not only have dire consequences for her, but Jonquinette as well? This book is definitely a unique combination of Zane's trademark incendiary erotica and a case study in what happens to one person when they know that they have multiple personalities (the seemingly passive/submissive Jonquinette and the aggressive/dominate Jude) and how the actions of one affects the other and all those around them. This is definitely a book that takes two unique topics and combines them nearly effortlessly to form one major hit form the mistress of African-American erotica, Zane.

My first Zane book, and its like Whoa!

This book was given to me as a Christmas gift, and I read the entire book in one sitting on Christmas day! Zane has a very vivid imagination, and her attention to detail, and intricate description of events is spectacular! I must admit, many scenes were beyond racy, but the story line kept me captivated. You will not be able to put this book down. Each chapter is immensely engaging. The irony is; eventhough you feel sorry for Jon's character, and somewhat loath Jude's character, you cannot help but to cheer Jude on in her escapades. Afterall, Jude's adventures are what make the story so engaging. After reading Nervous, I let my cousin read it, who then passed it on to her best friend, and now I have a waiting list of people who cannot wait to read it. To sum it all up, you have to read Nervous. Otherwise, you're missing out*

Zane has done it again!!!

All I can say is, if you haven't read this Zane book already, you are definitely missing something great! I incourage you to read Addicted (another Zane authored book), because it is the first in a 5-book series, with Nervous being the second. Some of the characters from addicted make an appearance in Nervous; to get the full effect of the book, you should read Addicted.I enjoyed reading this book down to it's last page. It will definitely keep you awake at night, and make you miss your stop on the train a few times (LOL)! The book definitely makes you feel like your right there with Jonquinette, Jude and...... Umm all the other characters. If you like a real page-turner from beginning to end or you just like Zane books, then you will LOVE this book.

ANOTHER WINNER FROM ZANE........!!

Zane doesn't disappoint with her tale of a young woman with multiple personalities....the dominant personality is sensitive, reclusive, and a complete sexual innocent. The other, however, is just the opposite; her life is one explicit sexual exploit after another. Jonquinette, the dominant personality, realizes that there is a reason for her "blackouts" and seeks professional help. Enter, the psychologist from "Addicted," who recognizes that Jon has Multiple Personality Disorder--and even meets Jude, who admits to going on sexual rampages and claims to be Jon's "protector."Zane fans familiar with her work will love the presence of recurring characters (from "Addicted") and Zane of course delivers a steamingly good tale with enough hot sex scenes to scorch a reader's fingers.....The ending is a mindblower! Great job, Zane, and I'm anxiously awaiting the next........

A MUST READ!!!! If they had 10 stars, that's what its worth

This book was sooo good that I gave it around of applause when I read the last sentence. In order to understand the story, first read the short story in Sex Chronicles, then RUN and get the book. This story has some serious many plot changes, that'll have you not wanting to put it down. I read it in 2 days!!! Zane's writing captures the reader and brings it to you, FULL FORCE. The final 2 chapters in the book will have you like WHOA!!!! I'm still trippin, LOL. Like I said RUN DONT WALK and purchase this book. It is well worth the money. OOOO for you Addicted lovin folks, Zoe make an appearance in Nervous.
