Misteries of the soul

Whoever thinks of Evangelion as a series of robots that fight is someone who cannot see that the sotry is really about the human being soul. Full of characters that Freud would love to talk about, Evangelion is one of the world's masterpiece. The Amrican edition`s only problem is that it does not have the color pages in the beggining. Instead, VIZ publishes those in black and white.

More of what we want to know

At first when i bought the manga I expected either, a totally parallel story with no points in common or the same exact amazing story. Instead i a mixture of both as it is the same anime story but re-drawn and focusing a lot more in the psychologies of the characters and overall, on the human instrumentallity project, that is what remains the darkest after the anime

The Religion of Evangelion

This is the manga that will change your way of life. The anime left me speachless. In the manga, Sadamoto-sama get's more into the minds of the people and what they are thinking. One thing's for sure. This is not the anime and it will change your views in life.

Open up a can of the big stuff on those Angels, Shinji

What do you do with to one othe the best anime series of the decade? Turn it into manga! I don't care if you like anime and manga or not...READ it! The art throughout the book is excelent, and the EVA/Angel battles are riveting. Shinji is less a whiny wimp in the 1st volumn of the manga than he is in the first episode of the anime. A definite plus. So go out into the world, and buy the book, and then the second, and so on until you spend all your money until you realize that you're flat broke, without out a home, and all you have left is your Evangelion tapes and books. Then go to your friend's house and watch 'em all again and read your manga.

The differences in the manga puts a whole new spin on things

Rei piloting EVA 01? Shinji being just a little less wishy washy? If you love the anime series like I do, the manga is a must. The art is solid throughout and the story is why we love Neon Genesis Evangelion so very much. If you are still not convinced, there is a must read essay by Ano on the last couple of pages and it gives you a whole 'nother view of this remarkable series.
