The wife of country singer George Jones and a leading reporter on country music present a look inside the life and marriages of the wives of America's country music stars. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I found this book very interesting. The book allowed us to see these couples how they really are and how they feel. They their publicist want you to see them (in some cases) and the way these people truly are can be two different things. Thank you Nancy and Tom for a terrific book.

I enjoyed this book, but the only thing I would change about it is the amount of the older, traditional country stars written about. I'd like to have seen the whole book be about the older singers, not as many of the newer ones. However, I know that today, the "young" and "cute" artists sell, even if they have no talent whatsoever. If the book was strictly about the "old-timers", it wouldn't appeal to as many people, I suppose.
A "WINNER" for Nancy Jones; another "GREAT" by Tom Carter.

Nancy Jones and Tom Carter were my radio guests recently while in town to talk about "Nashville Wives". Tom has been on my show before to chat about his various other books ... all works-of-art. He would make a tremendous television/radio "tell-it-like-it-is" host while utilizing his great entertainment knowledge and broadcast-level voice (A tip to the Nashville Network.) Nancy Jones ... and her husband, George ... have been my close friends for years. The book on George, the greatest country singer in the business, by Tom Carter was a gem. Now, the Mrs. George Jones keeps the winning points in the family by revealing an in-depth study of several ladies in the country music arena who know, first-hand, what goes on "behind closed doors"; some happiness, lots of sadness. And she did it with the help and approval of those discussed in the book ... over 250 pages of "can't put it down" facts that are never dull and will certainly bring on another set of show biz wives in a follow-up printing. -Bill Mack (Grammy-winning songwriter of LeAnn Rimes', "BLUE"; Radio's "Midnight Cowboy", heard nightly on the "Bill Mack Trucking Network", and host on "Country Crossroads", syndicated nationally each week on radio & television. He is also an entertainment columnist and member of the Country Music Disc-Jockey Hall-Of-Fame in Nashville.)
Great read for country music fans.

I received the book last night and read it in one night. This is a great read for fans of country music. It's nice to hear the wives speak out. You learn a whole new side to your favorite stars.Like did you know Jeff Foxworthy attends bible studies regularly. And Kix & Barbara Brooks are a "normal" family. No maids & nannies in that household. Also, Alan Jackson's wife tells about the ups & downs of her marriage to THE hottest star in country music. So if you are interested in hearing what the wives think of their husbands success(there's Arch Kelley, Wynonas hubby)get this book.
