Love this book

I was overjoyed to read how well B. D. Hyman overcame her problems and fears. It's sad that her mother, Bette Davis, who had been such a great actress, treated people so poorly -- and very sad that Ms. Davis had such problems. However, Ms. Hyman turned her life around by accepting Jesus Christ and starting a new life in Him. I loved everything in this book and wish everyone would read it.

THIS BOOK IS NOT BORING AT ALL!

This is a great book for "New Christians". It is also a great book for "Hollywood" people to read and to try to understand the motivations behinds B.D. Hyman writing "My Mother's Keeper". Narrow indeed is the road to heaven and I'm glad that B.D. and Jeremy and their sons found their way. A great testimonial about God's healing power! I, too, thoroughly enjoyed this book. Thank you B.D. and Jeremy and God Bless You!

INSPIRING BOOK ABOUT FAITH!

This is an inspiring book about Bette Davis's daughter and husband finding Christ in the midst of dealing with Bette Davis and her neuroses. It explains the motivations behind B.D.'s attempts to "save" her mother and show her mother how she was destroying everyone's lives. More, than that though, it is a testament to Christ and his healing powers to those who follow Him and have faith enough to believe He can do anything!

BETTE DAVIS HAD NARSSISTIC PERSONALITY DISORDER...

Little was known about NPD when this book and "My Mother's Keeper" were written. But B.D. got NPD down to a tee in her description of her mother's maniacal behavior. The B.D. bashers need to read up on NPD and what drives people who have it. Joan Crawford had this also...that is why she and Bette were enemies. People with NPD must have complete control over everyone and everything; they cannot stand to be beat by anyone and are jealous and envious of everyone and everything. They are the only ones who are right; no one else can contradict them; they crave constant attention. Bette Davis was nailed in all the right spots, but because she was a famous actress, people are naturally going to gravitate to her corner. B.D. and Jeremy found the way and tried desperately to get Bette to see the light before it was too late. I'm sorry they did not succeed but this book explains why they didn't succeed and why they had to cut her out of their lives. It is also a fine account of their becoming Christians and how as new "baby" Christians, continue to grow in the steps of Christ. When this book was written they still had a long way to go but they had a good start. Hopefully now, they have matured into fine, loving, people. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

A DIFFERENT TAKE ON CHRISTIAN CHARISMA!

As the sequel to the controversial "My Mother's Keeper", B.D. Hyman, Bette Davis' daughter takes us through her journey to Christianity and the aftermath of "My Mother's Keeper". The story is engaging filled with great testimony from B.D. and her family about God's healing and provision in the light of trials and valleys. Bette Davis "idolizers" have bashed this woman long enough because they have refused to accept that their "idol" was only human with human frailties, compouded by the fact that she made her career her God and everything else took second place, including her family. Sadly, Bette never found the happiness and satisfaction that knowing Christ can bring. Thank God B.D. and Jeremy did indeed find the way! I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
