Definate page turner

This book was fantastic not only for children but for all ages. It is gripping, suspenseful and doesn't need to rely heavily on violence or graphic imagery to convey its more than adequate fright factor. It's cute and to the point, not bothering with overtly flowery prose and keeps you glued until the last word. I must say however that the ending left me wanting a sequel. I highly suggest this if you like a good, light mystery.

What A Story Teller

If you don't read TJ Perkin's books, you're missing some reading joy in life. I have read both of her books and I can tell you, your children will enjoy reading them and so will you. TJ gives a story that extra touch, a touch that will grab your reading interest and hold it until you're simply finish with the book. Then you will want to go out and find some more TJ Perkin's.

Awesome

This is the best mystery book of the century. It's a book for all ages to enjoy. Just when you think that everything is o.k. it's something else. Great book! I'm looking forward to reading more of her books. Awesome!!!

Old Fashioned Suspense at it's Best

Thirteen-year-old Melissa's mom remarries, and their house isn't big enough for Melissa's new stepdad and his daughter, Becky. Melissa doesn't mind moving, really. She and her mom have moved plenty of times. What is different for Melissa is that this time they are sharing the ancient farmhouse. And it's not just Dad and Becky that she's got to get used to. She's certain there is something, someone, in the attic. Melissa bonds with her new stepsister as they try to unravel and amend the secrets that the home has held for centuries. The haunting only occurs when the girls are alone, so they are forced to fight the evil without help from their skeptical parents. However, the spirit of a kind young man comes to their aid, in the hope that by righting past wrongs he will be released to, at long last, rest in peace. Reminiscent of Nancy Drew or The Hardy Boys, MYSTERY OF THE ATTIC will captivate young readers and their parents alike. This book gives validation to every child whose Mom has ever uttered, "Nobody's on the roof, honey, it's just the wind blowing in the trees." And although this novel has a gratifying conclusion, I anxiously await its sequel. TJ Perkins is an author to watch.

Nail biting suspense!

In her second novel, author TJ Perkins has managed to create a story that captivates and compels the reader into the adventures of Melissa and her stepsister Becky as they try to unravel the mystery. Her writing is clear, crisp and written with such genuine care for the subject and the characters that you can't help but be drawn in. I found that with my own child, it kept her interested, and was not a chore for her to finish; she enjoyed it from cover to cover, as did I. Add to this that the author writes from her own experiences when she was 13, and this makes for a gripping tale that is near to impossible to put down once you start.I hope there are more books to come from the mind of TJ Perkins, and I for one will be reading them as quick as I can get my hands on them.
