Stupendous

This was an excellent Historical Romance! It is different from the average hum drum historical romances that seem to be published a dime a dozen these days. The hero is hot and the heroine is likeable --the story crosses all over the map of the world with the escapades that take place between the hero and the heroine. I highly recommend this book to romance readers--it goes far and beyond any of the average historical romance books one picks up these days. I must add that the cover art for this book sadly is not up to par with the story--this book should have a stunning, glorious cover--I don't know what the publishers were thinking. Grrrrrrr.

WOW!

I bought this book because every reviewer raved about it. About 50 - 80 pages into it I wondered how it garnered consistently 5 stars. But, then I kept reading and it just got better and better and all I can say is WOW!!! What a great book! So full of action, emotions, angst, history, family connections, and ROMANCE. I could not put it down until I had finished it. I hope Ms. Sharon writes fast, because I can't wait to read her next one. Don't miss this one.

Not your mother's romance novel

I just loved this book. It's rare to find a romance novel that hits all the right spots and leaves you with a feeling of pure satisfaction. I enjoyed every single page-turning chapter. The plot thickens with every page, the intrigue and mystery are artfully crafted, and the humor is weaved delicately into the story. It's a gem! Can't wait for Rona Sharon's next books.

Much more than a typical pirate story!!

So I admit it, I actually bought this book because the guy on the cover was so incredibly hot!! I had no idea who this author was because this was her first book, so I took a chance. I am so happy that I took that chance. Rona Sharon is a first rate author with a great deal of talent. I was completely captivated by this emotional story and its two wonderful main characters. The settings were rich and exotic and served the story well. I love the 18th century and thought that the way she actually included historical characters as characters in her story was done in a very effective way. Louis XIV was such an entertaining character in this book. The two lead characters Eros (The pirate) and Alanis ( his beautiful English captive) are wonderfully rich and well-developed characters. The book begins much like a typical pirate/captive story, but that is where the similarities end. The story simply takes off from there and never lets go of the reader. I truly did not want this book to end. I would put his book on a par with anything that Kathleen Woodiwiss has written except for the fact that the sex is much hotter! (not gratuitous, though). This will remain on my keeper shelf and I will look for anything that Rona Sharon writes in the future.

Wow. Finally a Great New Fesh Author, who knows how to write!!!

This book was amazing! Never a dull moment full of romance and suspence. I was honestly going to give up on romance novles for a few months, this book caught my eye!! Glad I picked it up, any way great book, great debut. Can't wait till she writes more!!!
