Fantabolous!

Now this is a title perfected for anyone infatuated with obscure wierd inventions, the world war ii, obscure canadian indie-rock bands with lovecraftian influences or just loves to read about enormous tanks with bullets that befit a mad megalomaniac to-be world conqueror. If you like the title, why not try the song? My Tank from Great Old Ones

Real History/ Mad Science

Truth is stranger than fiction, & this collection proves it. All of the weapons discussed here were either produced, proposed or researched during WW2, & any of them could have found a place in a B & W Sci-Fi flick or Republic Movie Serial. And oddity among history books, it covers oddities in WW2 History. Last note: don't dismiss the ideas presented in this book. Research Engineers have an astonishing, and sometimes unnerving, way of turning the silliest dreams into well-functioning reality. Be glad they didn't with these concepts.

Wild Weapons of the Third Reich

MY TANK IS FIGHT! is the strangest collection of data on bazarre Nazi secret weapons projects that still have yet to be realized. Some, like the Super Monster Tanks and the suicide cruise missles, were clearly impractical and would never see the light of day. Others have come to fruitition: The Sanger Space Bomber is now the Space Shuttle and the Horten Flying Wing is now the B-2 Bomber but we've yet to achieve the Orbital Space Station equipped with solar collector mirrors to fry the "enemies of the Reich" from outer space. Talk about Star Wars on steriods! Viewed objectively, the Third Reich was the most technologically advanced civilization on Earth in the mid-20th century and we've yet to acknowledge this. This book makes it quite clear and would be a great topic for a George Norrie "Coast to Coast" radio program! A real eye-opener on World War II, it is an awesome read....

Good mix of technical info and fictionalized vignettes

Great technical info, great vignettes, if you are interested in WWII weird tech, and how it might have been deployed, than this book is for you. For the tech buff, there are good scale line drawings, and tables of specifications; for the action buff there are plenty of well done painting quality pictures, and fictionalized accounts of their use in the field. For both there are good potential timelines for deployment (if they had been deployed), and excellent commentary by the author. My only complaint would be some of the aside jokes in the descriptions might be obscure or unnecessary to some of the more serious/ older readers, and may also date the book rather quickly. All in all it is a good balance of technical and fictional, and is, in the end, very entertaining. A good read for the military buff who isn't proofreading Jane's or anyone who enjoys military fiction above the level of a GI-Joe comic book.

Excellent

What a great book. I actually ordered this book by mistake, thinking it was about dinosaurs, but I sure am glad it wasn't! It was filled with all kinds of illustrations of things from the book and if it's too long for you to read (it isn't), the back has a summary of what happens inside the book! Hurry up and buy this book now before it is sold out and you're forced to pay $200 for it on ebay.
