Waiting for Part 2!

Pastor Chauncey Graham and his wife, First Lady Audrey Graham have two children, Francesca and Stiles. Stiles' is following in his father's footsteps in the ministry. All he needs now is a good woman by his side. First Lady Audrey believes that woman is Francesca's best friend, Rena Jackson. But there may be more to Rena than meets the eye. Once secrets from her past are exposed, will she still fit into the First Family? I loved Shelia Lipsey's "My Son's Wife." Five stars are simply not enough. In addition to the drama, it was an eye opener about Christianity. If there's one lesson to be learned, it's that people shouldn't be so judgmental. I didn't like how it ended and I am hoping it's because there will be a sequel. "My Son's Wife" is good reading and I recommend it. Reviewed by: Marcella

Mordern Day Life

My Son's Wife was a great book, it shows what goes on behind closed doors. It shows how people can show a happy outward apperance when their hearts and minds are messed up. Lipsey, shows just how messed up the people in the world are. Great work.

It's True, What's Done In The Dark Comes To The Light

In My Son's Wife penned by Shelia Lipsey, we meet the Graham family. Beloved Pastor Chauncey Graham, his wife, First Lady Audrey Graham, and their two children, the troubled Francesca Graham and, her half-brother, Stiles Graham. We also meet Francesca's best-friend, Rena Jackson. Audrey adores Rena and thinks she would be the perfect fit for her son, Stiles, who is on the path to becoming a pastor just like his step-father, Pastor Chauncey Graham. Little does anyone know, aside from Francesca (Frankie) and Rena, that their "friendship" is much more than meets the eye. Home from school, Stiles has the chance to meet the much older Rena. Instantly, he is captivated by her and soon after begins to court her. But, when Frankie gets wind of their relationship, she becomes livid and destructive to herself and all those who love her. Wow, Shelia Lipsey takes it there with My Son's Wife. She masterfully wraps the subject content of religion around that of molestation, homosexuality and skepticism. The quotes at the beginning of each chapter set the mood for what will occur, often times I found myself nodding and in full agreement with what they represented. I do wish the title of this book was different because the story, more so than anything, focused on Francesca and her actions which affected everyone. This book was a great read and one I recommend to everyone. Reviewed by Chantay, APOOO BookClub

Emotional Read!

This wonderful story will have you in tears because it was so emotional. It will have you wondering how a loving and First Lady of her church could turn her back on her daughter in her time of need. She has all praise for her son especially since he follows in his step-dads footsteps and becomes a minister and when she sees her daughter being abused by a family member, she turns her back on her. The sad part is that situations like this really happen and by so called church folk. You will not be able to put this book down until the very last page.

Excellent

I read this book in one night. I was just amazed by the attitude of the First Lady. Here her daughter was suffering from a tragedy in her youth and all she could think about was herself. Finding out that she knew what happened to her daughter and did nothing about it was even worse. She never put as much "love" into her daughter as she did into her son. Because her daughter made mistakes, she would not accept her.
