Life Changing

Very powerful and insightful view into the power of love to turn arround a life bent on anger, hate and violence. The author explains what he learned inside prison walls, his search through classic literature and other factors that turned his life arround. I read the book 25 years ago and recently gave it to my 22 year old daughter to read and she has since passed it on to her friends to read. This book is a true classic.

Truly insightful!

This is a book every person should read. It reaches into the heart of the hopeless and offers hope, courage, love. If you want to get understanding about why people can go bad and how they can turnaround and actually contribute in a big way, this book will do that, and bring tears to your eyes in the process.

A message for my Son

I read Mr. Sands Book in the Mid Sixties. It had an enormous impact on my life. His Book is an example of how to live a life and understand others. It propably kept me out of prison. I wish it was still in print so I could share it with my son who is doing twenty five to life in the state pen.

Excellent

I saw Bill Sands while a student in Jr.High (1972) his speech and reading his book make me like to think about what he had to say and to not forget his words of wisdom today. I still like to reread the book. It has a powerful message in it.

Excellent perspective on Prison life and great motivation.

This book was given to me to read just prior to my release from prison where I had served 19 month for possession of marijuana in 1969 and 1970. Reading about Bill Sands experiences and his incredible turnaround had a tremendous impact on me at that time and was definitely a factor in avoiding a return trip to the prison. It is now 1999 and I just finished reading the book again. The messages in the book were more numerous than I had remembered and much more clear with 30 years of life experience and freedom under my belt. This true story is a book of ethics and how to apply them in your life. It has an especially important message to those who have rebelled against the system and have lost their freedom because of their actions. It will be enjoyed by inmates, criminals, and by anyone who is curious about what it is like to live inside a prison. It is motivational reading at its finestMr. Sands lived a very interesting life as he searched for a career that brought satisfaction as well as income. He established many programs to help those who had stumbled find a place in society. My thanks to Mr. Sands! The world needs more people like you who sincerely care about others and are willing to step up to the plate to help them.
