I liked it.

I thought this was a touching book. I think it showed a lot of sacrifice on Alana's part. Who wants to fly that many times to Germany where its cold and snowing and leave your family connections. I get sad anytime I have to leave my family. I am not sure I could have done it. Who else did Farrah really have? It taught me more about being a friend for better or worse. Yes, she talks about her boyfriend Mimmo. I didn't really care. I know she put in that story as a sub story to break up hearing about one more procedure that didn't work for Farrah. It reconfirmed for me when its all said and done the only thing that really matters is friendship and family. Farrah was blessed to have someone care enough about her to be there for her emotionally thru it all and document for her. Way to go Alana!

This was bought at the request of a friend who is battling lung cancer. She was totally thrilled with the book and is having her children read it as well.

Appreciated the honesty

I greatly appreciated Alana's honesty and the insight into her life. I think if you criticize Alana for cashing in on the book, then you have to say the same thing about the documentary. I don't judge Alana for the book or Farrah for making the documentary. They both did what was right for them, and I applaud them for that. I enjoyed reading the book because it was by someone who was truly close to Farrah, therefore, I trusted what I read. Only criticism - I would have liked to have seen some larger vocabulary words in this book. Thank you, Alana and Ryan for your devotion to Farrah.

A MUST READ!

You can tell this book was written from the heart. As you read it in it's diary format you ride the roller coaster of emotions just as all the people involved did. However, as you read it you KNOW the final outcome which only adds to the immense sadness of entire story. Some of the stories Alana shares about Farrah are poignant while others are just hysterical, like the story where Farrah tells Deepak Chopra where she meditates (But I won't give the location away but it was very funny.) I read the entire book in one setting and want to go back and read it again as I am sure I will get even more out of it. How strong of a woman Farrah was to fight this huge battle and place it on film, and how equally strong Ms. Stewart must be to open herself up to the public through this telling of her friends final journey through her own eyes. To all those who say Alana was too soon in pushing out a book and must have had it in the works long before Farrah passed, all I can say is: Read the book and you will see that Farrah asked her to write the book. The book is her journal entries so of course she was writing it while Farrah was alive and Farrah was indeed aware of it. THANK YOU ALANA FOR BEING BRAVE ENOUGH TO PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE TO THE PUBLIC AND FOR SHARING THIS WARM AND TOUCHING STORY WITH THE WORLD! YOU SHOULD BE VERY PROUD!!!

Heartwarming friendship

Alana has done an excellent job capturing her emotions on to paper. Her love of Farrah is raw and honest. The book was a beautiful tribute to a friend. We shall all be so lucky to have a friend like Alana in our time of need. For those that think she is 'cashing in', I just dont see it that way. I think Farrah would be proud of her friend.
