Surprisingly entertaining read...a gem for HULK TV series' fans

"My Incredible Life As the Hulk" chronicles Lou Ferrigno's quick rise from bullied kid to TV star. A huge fan of the HULK TV series as a kid, I'm surprised that more has not been written about the enormously popular show. Ferrigno's book holds a special place, then, if only as one of the few chronicles of the series' production thus far. The quality of the writing is rather simple and pedestrian, but let's be honest, here -- this is a book by and about THE HULK, not Shakespeare, and what treasures the book holds lie in the stories and personal accounts of the series' behind the scenes. Ferrigno presents his stories with a self-effacing sense of humor and charm, and he is quite bravely frank and forthcoming in some of the hardships he faced, ranging from heavy drinking, stress, romantic troubles, and some real-life "HULK-OUT" temper tantrums on the set. His friendship with the late Bill Bixby is especially poignant. All in all, this is a simple, easy to read, geniunely involving and informative book that is an ABSOLUTE MUST for "Incredible Hulk" and Lou Ferrigno fans. The book is an oversized paperback, filled with many black and white photos, and special introductions from Ang Lee and Stan Lee.
