powerfully and joyfully challenging, hugely inspiring

If you are anything like me (that is, not usually much of a reader) you will speed through this book and be left deeply, most gladly affected by it. I couldn't get the stories I read here out of my mind for weeks. It made me hopeful, it inspired me to greater thoughts and ambition for the Lord, it humbled me to think that I am anything of a real missionary myself, and it fueled more passionate and worthy prayers than I have prayed in too long a time. I wish I could buy a copy for all my dearest friends. The only down point is the dumb cover (and possibly the title as well- seems to limit the draw of the book to only a female audience)- constrainedly, old school feminine. Oh that the publisher would do a better job next time! As it is, I think my husband would be embarrassed to be caught reading this in a coffee shop, though it would be meat for his spiritual diet as well as it was for mine. So, cover it with a paper bag if you must, but get this book in your own hands and then share it with as many people as you can!

Excellent

My Heart in His Hands is an excellent book for those interested in selfless dedication to the spread of the Gospel of the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is a book I will read many times and purchase to give to others.

Interesting and well-done

This is a very interesting presentation of the life and ministry of Ann Hasseltine Judson. Through excerpts from her letters and from the Memoir by James Knowles, interwoven with the author's narrative, the reader not only gains a better understanding of Ann Judson's life as a missionary (with Adoniram Judson) in Burma in the 19th century, but also learns of the inner thoughts and feelings of the missionary herself. You will be both challenged and moved by the powerful testimony of this courageous woman who gave her all for her God for the furtherance of the gospel in a distant land. The bibliographical references and index increase the value of this well-done biography.

A gripping read!

For anyone with a heart for missions or a love for the Lord, this is a great read! Sharon has captured the real spirit that Ann Judson had to reached the unreached with the gospel. The latter half about Adoniram's prison experience was one of those narratives which has you looking forward to going to bed so you can settle in for a good hour of reading!! It is brought to life with letters and diary entries. It very much opened up my mind to the pioneer mission work of the Judson's in Burma and challenged me in my own efforts at witnessing for Christ and serving him.
