Beautiful, Traditional, Keepsake Book

This is a uniquely attractive and touchable book which, by its cover alone, induces you to want to pick it up, run your hands over it and take a closer look. Pages are of heavy-duty, double-ply stock that will hold up well to repeated use for many years as well as withstand the curious fingers of toddlers as their hands explore the "touchy feely" quality. Pages look like they are quilted or hand-crafted in scrapbook style with images comprised of fabric, buttons, ribbons, foil, yarn, etc. Pictures illustrate a variety of traditional Christmas and Yule elements such as holly, angels, sheep, sleighs, candles, baby Jesus, snowmen, nativities, ships, Bethlehem, reindeer, carolers, Christmas trees, stars, St. Nicholas, drummers, wisemen, partridges, etc. Embossed "stiches" and real felting details throughout the entire book give it a raised, dimensional quality that compels you to "reach out and touch" every time you turn a page. In our house, this collection of carols and rhymes is enjoyed by babies, toddlers, older children and adults alike. It leans toward non-secular, well-known, traditional carols and rhymes, making it fun and easy for anyone to sing along and enjoy. We are consistently amused to see adults at our Christmas gatherings pick it up and hum or sing along quietly as they flip pages. Next thing you know, a child or two gets interested, and before you know it, the entire house is singing along!
