Excerpt from "Farming with Your Stubborn Family" by Andy "Caygeon" Junkin.
Every farmer has to put his work boots on and off. This action happens in a moment when you aren't busiest and it's easy to extend it from 30 seconds to 3 minutes. In this program, I advocate journaling your thoughts both morning and night as you put on and take off your boots. Begin each day as you lace up your work boots and physically write out your goals: Your Absolute Truth, three quarterly management objectives, why you farm, the family values you want to work on, and the three character improvements you want to work on. Start your day in a positive light and ignite your inner motivation to come back home a better person. At the end of the day, as you take off your work boots, review how you did and grade yourself, put down any problems/challenges you may have had or any ideas for improving the farm. Ask the question: were you the person you want to become? A simple but highly effective habit!
