funniest book ever

Well, maybe not the funniest, but way up there. The story of a boy and his dinosaur that ends "step on Mother." A binding of Morrocan leather that may have come from your old Morrocan grandfather. But no Chapter Seventeen. Every damn book you pick up has a chapter seventeen.

Never Trust a Naked Bus Driver

Jack Douglas was a funny man that made others seem even funnier. He was a joke writer for--among others--Johnny Carson. I read this one give or take 30 years ago and have never been able to get hands on a copy of it or of "My Brother was an Only Child" since. Jack's Japanese wife--she spoke no English and he no Japanese when they were married--was a real trooper--he called her Huckleberrry Hashimoto and their adventures as newlyweds was a first serious (yeah, sure-HO HO)effort at humor.BEWARE of these books. They are addictive. Folks tend to read and reread them at a single sitting--reading through the night; missing their stop on the subway--all else fades into obscurity; there is a craving for more Jack Douglas--worse than chocolate!!!
