Precious for Teaching Your Child the Meaning of the Lord's Prayer

I feel that the jacket cover states very well what this book is about. "Your child may know the Lord's Prayer by memory. But does he know it in his heart? Eileen Lomasney's heartfelt poetry can help it happen. She takes each petition by itself and leads your child through it. What does the "kingdom of God" mean, for example, as he lives out his day? ... Each petition, then, through God's grace and faith, becomes a personal prayer for your child - with precious meanings he'll remember when he prays it." The first of each two pages you have open has a phrase of the Lord's prayer encircled by beautiful pastel pictures. On the facing page you will find the meaning of it in verse. For example, the first phrase focused on is "Our Father". Across from it you will read in large letters easy for a beginning reader to read,("-" designates the beginning of each line "Though God set life upon its course-And made the world come true, - He is YOUR Father, and He holds - A Father's love for you. - And so, though He is Lord of all - In earth and sea and sky, - The good news IS that YOU are quite - The apple of His eye!" And so it goes for the 20 pages of explanation of the prayer with 5 pages introducing it. I have been deeply involved in different parts of the Christian Church, from the Catholic church to the Black Pentecostal church and the Jewish Messianic church and all the denominations (and non-denominational churches) in between. I would say that this is appropriate for Christians whatever the specifics of their faith. While Eileen Lomasney is a sister (CSJ - of Saint Joseph), she ends the prayer in the way that Protestants do ("For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.")
