This book has fascinating characters that you come to know very well and want to know more and more about. It was so easy to put myself in the main character's shoes and wonder, "What would I do if I were her?" I loved this book and could totally picture it as a movie the whole time I was reading it. Happy times, sad times, lots of drama - it kept me turning the pages and i couldn't put it down til i was finished. I hope Ms Gerdes continues to write more books like this one!

I was intrigued from the very first page of My Book Of Life and didn't want to put it down. While reading this there were many days I found myself thinking about the life lessons so touchingly illustrated through the experiences of Rachel and couldn't help but reflect upon the relationships in my own life. Rarely do I come across a book that so inspires me to look beyond my own judgments and expectations and view others as I hope they would view me. I have heard that Ms. Gerdes has written a second book in what I hope will be a My Book Of Life series and am eagerly anticipating anything this talented author releases.

I loved the book. I especially loved the ending. I love that the book leaves you thinking. It definitely leaves you wondering and pondering and thinking, I like that. I would also be interested in the next book. I would love to see how all her problems play out and what role her grandfather interaction plays in her actions. I look forward to more books in the future.
Fun and insightful journey

What a delight it was reading My Book of Life. I got "hooked" into the drama/adventure of the story and really enjoyed the ride. I could see our book group having some great discussions and insights. The book was entertaining, thought provoking, and for me, personally, instructional. While I was reading the book a close family friend and dear friend of my 18 year old daughter was killed in a drowning accident. The timely combination of these two things really made me look at death and life and realize, among many other things, how much we truly do affect others. I want to feel and find the very best in not only every person, but in every place, in every experience, and in every moment that I can. I look forward to reading more from this talented author.
