Music Business Made Simple

This book is a very easy book to pick up and finish reading in 1 day. We had looked at a number of other books about the music business with our son who is a songwriter/guitarist. They were all very complicated and didn't give any concrete advice of how to get started as a manager of your own career. Music Business Made Simple clearly outlines the steps to take and delineates the steps that are most important to be successful not only as a musician/songwriter, but as a manager of your career. I highly recommend it for anyone starting out in the music business that hopes to make it a career.

Well if you have you'll be disappointed to hear that there is no easy way of getting into this shark infested industry, but there is a book that makes the process look simple because it touches all the sensitive subjects that are not discussed in other title. J. S. Rudsenske's book takes you through some vivid examples and show's you the path to fortune with quick and easy to follow steps.

An Honest Book About the Music Profession

My niece desperately wants to become a celeb like Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera. So, when her birthday rolled around, I searched for a book about the music business that wasn't too advanced. There are tons of great books out there but Music Business Made Simple was perfect for this occasion. It's a very basic primer for anyone who wants to become a recording artist. Since my niece doesn't even play an instrument yet, this is a good place to start. The book explains that music is like any other career and you'll need to learn and work hard in order to "make it." The author is very inspiring and discusses setting goals and practicing. He makes a point to explain that you can be a successful working musician, even if you don't make it to the top of the mainstream charts. He goes on to talk about the importance of songwriting and the live performance. Other topics discussed include recording demos and records, creating promotional packages, who you'll need to work with (manager, entertainment attorney, producer, etc.), etc. The last chapter is devoted to landing a contract with either a major or independent record label. All in all, I thought this was a terrific, inexpensive book. My niece loved it and she is now busy learning guitar (another birthday present for "the next Avril Lavigne").

Finally, An Easy To Read Book About The Music Business

After having read several books about the music business, this handy guidebook explains how to become a recording artist in a simple and clear way. This is unlike other books I have read that are so dense that I never could finish an entire chapter. The format of the book is similar to FAQs (frequently asked questions) and the author answers each question in about two pages. The information provided is so practical I was able to use some of the advice immediately. And it worked.
