I usually think true crime is plodding and icky, but I saw this on sale at the library for $.25 and needed something for an airplane ride and a conference. I thought the stories were very well written and interesting, set in various locales from France to South Africa in the 70s or 80s. The diapproving social commentary (apparently Europe in the 60s-70s was a place of routine sexual depravity) was rather charming if perhaps a little untrustworthy. I wouldn't know. In any case, I enjoyed the book, although I didn't bring it back home with me.
