A great Christie novel.

I somehow spent 20 years of not reading this book without running into a spoiler, and I am very grateful of that. I won't spoil it, in case you also haven't read it, but believe me, the ending is unexpected. A good, involved mystery, and a classic work of Agatha Christie. Well-written and enjoyable.

The definitive Agatha Christie.

This is a interesting tale. It is very complex and somewhat complicated, but is resolved dully at the end. It is a good mystery, but it's also a great story, and worth the concentration.

Christie and Poirot at their best

Murder on the Orient Express is almost certainly the most famous Agatha Christie novel and may well be the best-known novel from the entire mystery genre. Despite the fact that I had been told the solution to the case many years ago, I decided to go ahead and finally read the book and am very glad that I did. The basic plot, for any who don't already know, involves a murder on board a train with a small, but colorful, group of passengers. It becomes apparent relatively quickly that no one could have possibly committed the murder but Poirot has no option except to exercise his little gray cells to their utmost in an effort to solve the case. The story moves along at a nice clip and the cast is varied and interesting. My favorite aspect of any Poirot novel tends to be the little Belgian himself and he is in fine form here. It is a tribute to Agatha Christie's writing that I could enjoy reading a mystery novel so much on my first read even knowing the murderer before starting. The book is an excellent choice whether you are an old Poirot fan who hasn't gotten around to it yet or a first-time Christie reader.

Fourteen passengers and Hercule Poirot on a train, stuck in a blizzard in a mountain pass on the way from Cairo to Calais. Breathes there a crime fiction fan with soul so dead that she isn't familiar with this story? Still, they call them "classics" for a reason, and Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express was one on publication in 1934. It was at that time an entirely new take on the locked room mystery, and the little gray cells of the Belgian detective with the magnificent moustaches are put seriously to the test. Must reading for any fan of the genre, and made into an iconic film in 1974 starring a host of instantly recognizable faces, including Albert Finney, Lauren Bacall, Sean Connery, and Ingrid Bergman, who won an Oscar for her performance. The best adaptation of a Christie novel and I checked: It's out on DVD.

Asesinato en el Orient Express is a very interesting book. The story begins on a train. The train is traveling for three day around Europe. The train is traveling during winter, so during the beginning the train suffers a little accident on the way. The train gets caught in snow. No one can get out of there so they have to stay there until they get rescued. During the night someone killed Mr. Ratchett, he was in cabin number two. During the morning detective Poirot was announced that Mr. Ratchett was killed while he was sleeping. Poirot searched in the cabin and found out that someone killed Mr. Ratchett with a dagger. He knew that since they were trapped, the killer was still around them. There were only three suspects. Mr. Masterman, Mrs. Ohlson, Princess Dragomiroff, and the manager. They were the only ones that were at the scene during night. Poirot found three clues. He found a dagger, a royal napkin, and some burned paper. He starts asking questions to his four suspects. I recommend this book to the people who love sunspence stories. When I first read this book, Poirot was always keeping me guessing who the culprit is. The one who killed Mr. Ratchett is the one you least suspect. You really have to read this book.
